why Element by Westin Ubud, bali is the Ultimate Family Hotel for Your Next Trip

Introduction + Why We Chose This Hotel
Ubud has no shortage of beautiful hotels, but not all of them work well for families, especially if you plan to actually explore the town and not stay hidden in a resort.
We chose Element by Westin Ubud the first time purely because of location, and we kept coming back because it made family travel easy. The hotel is located on one of Ubud’s main streets, which means you can step outside and immediately access shops, cafés, groceries, and restaurants.
Our Personal Experience
Because we’ve stayed here more than five times, our routine became very natural. Mornings usually started with breakfast at the hotel, followed by walking into town, taking the free shuttle to Monkey Forest or Ubud Market, or spending time at the pool.

Rooms
Ground-floor rooms are very convenient for families because the pool is just steps away. There is a small terrace with chairs and a table, but it’s important to keep the balcony doors closed since the pool is right there.
Top-floor rooms are larger and more spacious. They require a bit more walking, but the jungle-view bathrooms are beautiful and worth it if you want more space and privacy.
Pool & Service
The pool is calm and family-friendly,not overcrowded with a shallow section perfect for younger kids. Service is generally good, friendly and helpful, though not overly attentive.

Kids Facilities & Family Activities
This is not a loud kids-club-style resort, which actually works well for families who prefer slower travel. The pool setup, walkable location,( not really suitable for strollers) the pavement is bumpy and not even and there are cars and bikes parked, so you have to walk around. and easy daily routine make it comfortable for kids without overstimulation.
Pros & Cons
Pros:
- Excellent central location
- Walkable shops, cafés, and groceries
- Family-friendly pool
- Spacious rooms
- Free shuttle service
Cons:
- Spa is average for the price
- Service is good but not luxury-level
- Ground-floor rooms require extra attention with kids
Within walking distance you’ll find coffee shops, bakeries, souvenir stores, grocery shops, and casual restaurants. The free shuttle service to Monkey Forest and Ubud Market is very convenient and we use it almost every day. On a slow days we will just walk around a bit, but it can get boarding and repetitive very quickly, if you just do that.
The rooftop bar is another highlight, offering great cocktails, happy hour, and beautiful jungle views.
Final Thoughts + Recommendation
Element by Westin Ubud is one of the best family hotels in Ubud if location and practicality matter to you. It’s comfortable, reliable, and perfectly positioned for exploring the town. We will definitely stay here again, though we usually skip the spa and enjoy better-value options nearby.
