We chose Samba Villas mainly because it’s only a 7-minute walk from the harbor, which is a huge plus on Gili Trawangan. If you’ve been to the Gili Islands before, you’ll know that transport options are limited to bicycles or horse-drawn carts. With kids and luggage, that can get uncomfortable fast.
Being able to walk to the hotel after arriving by boat made everything easier and stress-free. That first impression already set the tone for a relaxed stay—and it only got better from there.

It’s not a traditional buffet. Instead, you order directly from the menu, and everything is freshly prepared. The quality of the food was very good—fresh ingredients, simple options, and nicely presented.

The breakfast restaurant is across the street, right on the beach.
